Ask Mortal Kombat’s creator for a Kung Lao trailer and this is what you get

It appears Kung Lao is returning to Mortal Kombat, and series creator Ed Boon is having a whole lot of fun with the reveal.

Mortal Kombat fans spied Finnish games magazine Pelaaja previewing Mortal Kombat X, with an image showing an updated Kung Lao, the hat-throwing Shaolin monk, by that name. Now, you may recall Kung Lao was a little dead after the end of the story in 2011’s Mortal Kombat, not that death has ever stopped a character’s return to a video game or movie.

Fans started tweeting at Boon and he decided to go with it, releasing that Kung Lao “trailer,” above and pretend-denying his return. When confronted by a fan with a scan of the Finnish magazine and asked for an explanation, Boon replied, “Uh … gimme a minute ….

Nvidia reveals Tegra X1 mobile graphics chip, ‘exact same GPU’ as desktop Maxwell

Nvidia’s Jen-Hsun Huang opened the company’s CES press briefing with the announcement of a new mobile graphics chipset, dubbed the “Tegra X1.” Based on the company’s energy efficient Maxwell desktop GPU — it’s the “exact same GPU,” says Huang — the X1 has 256 CUDA processor cores and 8 CPU cores. Huang pointed out that it handles 4K video at 60 Hz, suggesting there’s “nothing like it in the world.”

Huang said that the Elemental demo of Unreal Engine used to consume over 300W of power just two and a half years ago, then 100W on the Xbox One just one year ago, and now only 10W with the Tegra X1. The demo Nvidia played appeared to run at a notably reduced framerate compared to those previous efforts, and the visual fidelity appeared…

Naturally, someone built Notch’s Beverly Hills mansion in Minecraft

Not a day after word spread that Markus “Notch” Persson, the creator of Minecraftpurchased the most expensive home in Beverly Hills, did someone recreate it in the game that has made him so wealthy.

Moreover, when filming it, Dan Bovey made sure to recreate it shot-for-shot with this piece of real-estate porn advertising the spread.

Bovey says the download for Notch’s digs will be coming soon on his page at Planet Minecraft.

Notch created Minecraft, one of the all-time runaway hits of video gaming, and this summer sold the game and his studio, Mojang, to Microsoft for a reported $2.5 billion. He has since left the company.

What’s it gonna take to put you in Star Citizen’s latest ride?

Three years into its development, I’m not even ephemerally aware of the metastory in Star Citizen, the sprawling spacefaring MMO from Cloud Imperium. I am, however, aware it has intergalactic star vehicle advertisements that perfectly mimic those seen during your average NFL broadcast.

The latest spot in Star Citizen‘s superb fleet reveal series is for the Mustang, not by Ford but Consolidated Outlands, an in-game manufacturer. Everything about this is spot on: the smug, self-regarding designer, the setting in a barren flatlands, the vague 3-D blueprinting. All it needs is the “closed course; professional pilot” disclaimer. Because don’t tell me they don’t have lawyers in this galaxy.

Why isn’t Star Citizen having a…

Site revival and remodel

Hello there!

I have revived the website and will be making massive changes to support more modern and cleaner techniques to Word Press. To give a little detail of myself, my name is Daniel and I am a Linux Systems Administrator for HostGator.com OpenStack Engineer (now). I have over 10 years of web design and Linux experience and will be managing the hosting of HackMyWii.org. This project was passed on to me years ago from the HackMyWii.net website’s owner.  The old domain now transfers to this site, I will be focusing more on providing news and updates for Wii-U content now.

I will take any ideas to better this website into consideration.
I appreciate everyone’s support and hope to bring this site to it’s potential.
Also to note, I a retiring Wii content as we will focus on the Wii-U from now on!

Super Mario Galaxy 2.5

From Glem3:

We’re a project dedicated to making a new experience, using the resources nintendo gave us through Super Mario Galaxy 2. We now have 188 members and counting. We require more artists, composers, level designers, level creators, and programmers to help us in our efforts! Some programs that have been coded for the project are an AST converter by our programmer “KamiMatt”, and a text editor also being worked on by KamiMatt.

A custom level:

We also currently have MrBean35000vr and Chadderz working on asplitscreen multiplayer mode, where one player plays as Mario and the other as Luigi, simultaneously, through heavy duty hacking and glitches in the game that our team managed to find.

You don’t need any hacking experience to join, we will teach you everything you need to know about hacking the game there, and we will have one-on-one conversations with anyone confused through our IRC.

#SMG2-5 on irc.wiihacks.com

Among other new features, we will have levels where you control multiple Marios (this is possible due to a glitch). Levels focused on using certain types of switches, custom camera angles, and more.

Join today, at SuperMarioGalaxy2-5!
